Most businesses view a search engine as a site you visit to type (or speak) a question into a search box and they magically respond with a long list of search results of links to web pages that could potentially answer your question. It’s an accurate enough view of what Search Engines do. But we only see the results and not the work, calculations and bidding – yes, there are bidding wars – that happen in the background. Have you ever really thought about what’s behind those magical lists of links?

Here is a short and brief explanation how SEO works: All search engines like Google use what we call website crawler bots. The bot goes out and gathers information about all the websites they can find on the Internet.  These little bots look at everything; from content, to loading speed, page structure – it’s a complicated process. They take their gathered information and bring it back to the search engine to build an index. The indexed information goes through an algorithm that tries to match all that data with your search query, while taking all those other little factors into account. Once it’s done, it gives you the ‘best’ results matching your search. All in a blink of an eye!
